Customized Group Coaching Programs
Group Coaching for Individual Artists and Creatives
I work with participants to collaboratively determine topics or challenges they want help with that are of common interest within the group. We explore selected topics one at a time over a series of weekly one hour sessions. I prepare specific coaching exercises for each topic, share tools and facilitate discussions during each session to help individual participants create strategies and take action to move forward in those areas. Open discussion and break out groups provide opportunities to share perspectives and be inspired and encouraged by each other. Session structure includes weekly check ins and goal setting/action steps to support individual progress.
Topics and challenges explored with past groups include:
-
Clarifying vision and identifying core priorities
-
Prioritizing creative practice - actually making time
-
Establishing structures and routines to support creative practice goals
-
Self empowerment strategies to deal with inner critic/imposter syndrome
-
Balancing a variety of creative passions and interests
-
Developing professional networks and community around creative practice
-
Building accountability into independent creative practice
Sessions are one hour via Zoom. Limited to 6 participants.

Customized Group Coaching for Arts Organizations and Teams
I create customized programs for arts organizations to support capacity building, specific program initiatives and to navigate professional development at an organizational, individual staff or program participant level. I work collaboratively with management, the individual staff or program participants to support their work culture ideals, program objectives and parameters, group and individual needs and goals. Custom programs can be designed to include in-person or virtual group coaching sessions, supplementary individual coaching support for team members or program participants or a combined approach of group and individual sessions.
Some organizations I’ve provided customized group coaching programs for:
Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television
Art Gallery of Grande Prairie Alberta
Black Artists Network in Dialogue
Robert McLaughlin Gallery
Workman Arts
Here are just a few of the kind words my group coaching clients have shared.
Chris did a wonderful job guiding the discussion in each session. Something that was unexpected was the amount I learned from the breakout groups during our session. It was so valuable to speak to other artists and have specific questions to guide our conversation. The insight from other artists with different experiences and a different approach than my own really helped me to get out of my head and think of my practice and my actions in a new way. Olivia
This was my first experience with group coaching. Chris provided some really good questions for us to work through. I appreciated that they were based on the needs expressed by the group. It was instructive to hear about other participants’ challenges and their approaches to tackling their issues. One of the benefits of group coaching is that you realize you are not alone in your challenges. I continue to refer to the handouts and questions provided during the course and have incorporated some of them in my check-in practice. This course brought much clarity! Glad Chris is out there doing this! Laura
Chris' group coaching sessions gave me insight into where I am with my art practice and where I need to focus my energy to achieve my goals. Chris facilitated a pleasant and enjoyable environment that was both supportive and inspiring. I loved how she listened to what we shared, distilled our conversations into succinct, clear ideas which she then transformed into topics we could choose from as a focus for the weekly sessions. If your creative practice needs recharging don't hesitate to book one-on-one or group coaching sessions with Chris. Nicola
Group coaching with Chris far exceeded my expectations. The very first session helped me finally move past the place where I was stuck and opened up new possibilities. By the end of the program I met my goal of finding a new direction and then some. Whatever you are struggling with or wherever you are stuck, I bet Chris can help! Kathy
